Mr Geoff Tymms

Geoff Tymms is consulting at the Vermont Consulting Suites on Level 3.

Mr Tymms is a Melbourne orthopaedic foot and ankle surgeon.

He completed his medical training at the University of Melbourne in 1995 and then underwent orthopaedic surgery training in Melbourne and obtained his Fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons.

Geoff has worked as a consultant surgeon in a number of Melbourne’s hospitals. He obtained further foot and ankle surgery experience during visits and training in the United States and Europe, and now practices solely in foot and ankle surgery.

His interests are in all sporting and non-sporting foot and ankle injuries. Particular interests are in sporting ankle and foot injuries, ankle ligament reconstruction surgery, ankle arthritis and ankle replacement surgery, ankle arthroscopy and cartilage injuries, Achilles tendon injuries, flatfoot and deformity reconstructive surgery.

Mr Arash Riazi is a highly trained Australian Orthopaedic Surgeon having completed extensive training both nationally and internationally. Initially winning the Orthopaedic prize at Prince of Wales Hospital in 1998, he has since gained over 15 years of experience in Orthopaedic surgery.

 

As a medical student he completed his elective in Orthopaedic Surgery at the Austin Hospital under the supervision of Mr Julian Feller, and his passion for Orthopaedic Surgery began early in his medical training.

 

He completed his internship in 1999 at the Austin Hospital. Mr Riazi underwent his Basic Surgical Training and Registrar training at the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons in various Victorian hospitals.   Austin and Repatriation, Southern Health, The Northern Hospital, The Alfred Hospital, Royal Childrens Hospital, Goulburn Valley Health and Bendigo Hospitals.

 

In 2005 he successfully entered and completed the highly competitive fellowship training in Orthopaedic surgery at the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons . He then, as promised, worked in the country hospitals of Goulburn Valley Health and Bendigo Health servicing the Orthopaedic needs of Shepparton, Bendigo and surrounding towns in their catchment area.

Due to family reasons, Mr Riazi moved back to the eastern suburbs of Melbourne in 2014.  “I really want to bring that country style practice to the city.”

 

Mr Riazi now mainly performs;

  • Complex revision and primary lower limb arthroplasty (Hip and Knee replacements)
  • Lower limb ligament reconstructions (Sports related injuries)
  • Arthroscopic surgery, Meniscus repair,
  • Knee ACL reconstruction, Ankle ligament reconstruction
  • Complex peri-prosthetic fracture treatment
  • Fracture treatment upper limb and lower limb
  • Bunion and forefoot reconstruction surgery
  • Base of thumb reconstruction (trapeziectomy and suspensionplasty)
  • Shoulder replacement
  • Rotator Cuff repair

 

Mr Riazi has a public appointment at Eastern Health (Box Hill hospital) where he operates, consults and he teaches medical students and Junior Doctors. He is also a six time representative of the Docceroos (Australian Medical Football team) who came 4th in Barcelona 2016 World Cup.
