Dr Sugandha Kumar is a fully qualified Obstetrician and Gynaecologist committed to providing comprehensive women’s health care in the eastern suburbs.
Sugandha did her early medical and specialist training in a prestigious medical institute in India. She immigrated to Australia in 2008 and completed her advance training in Obstetrics and Gynaecology in Monash and Eastern Health.
Dr Kumar holds specialist appointments in the Box Hill and Angliss hospitals, and provides private care in the Mitcham Private, Waverley Private and Knox Private Hospitals. She has an academic appointment at Monash University.
Dr Kumar is moving her office to the Vermont Private Hospital. This new purpose built, state of the art facility will enable her to look after her patients in an aesthetically pleasing environment. The centre is conveniently located on Burwood Highway close to Eastlink with easy access to the surrounding areas. The facility provides free parking to the patients.
Dr Kumar has a special interest in:
- Preconception health optimisation and counselling, management of recurrent pregnancy loss
- Individualised pregnancy care including for High risk pregnancies
- Office Gynaecology and Minimally-invasive gynaecology surgery including laparoscopic hysterectomy
- Menstrual disorders, Menopause and Menopausal Hormone Therapy (MHT)
- Pelvic organ prolapse
- Contraception
Dr Kumar has a strong focus on improving outcomes for her patients by offering up-to-date and evidence based treatment options. Her patients appreciate her calm and reassuring manner and individualised management.
Dr Kumar is available to provide pre-referral advice or to answer any clinical query. She endeavours to see urgent referrals as soon as possible. After hours appointments are also available for your convenience.
